For over 250 years, waltz has been a favorite of dancers around the
world. In waltz, you get to embrace your partner and glide around the
room with walking (and whirling) steps. For four Mondays starting
July 6th at the Salida Scout Hut, Kimball Edell will be teaching a
casual, folk waltz that encourages creativity and fun. Kimball Edell
has been dancing and teaching waltz on the Front Range for over 15
years and is excited to teach in our area this summer! What he loves
most about waltzing is sharing that smooth motion with a partner.
Geared towards beginners, this class will also offer the intermediate
dancer fun new moves and skills to refine and smooth out your
waltzing! Kimball's lessons feature lots of practice to cement the
class knowledge. Regular partner rotation plus responding to what the
group needs makes every class different. Lessons run from 7:15pm -
8:45pm with Open Dancing afterwards from 8:45-9:45pm. Cost is only
$35 for 4 weeks or $10/drop-in. Come for just the Open Dancing for
$5/person. The series will culminate July 27th with live music by
Rodney Sauer, top-notch Louisville-based pianist who loves to play for
dancers. Twenty people are needed to make this series happen. Sign
up and pay for the series by showing up early the first night. This
event is sponsored by Arkansas Valley Music and Dance. Visit
