The Alpine Orchestra's winter concert series covers three centuries: 1700's to 1960's, George Frideric Handel to John Lennon and Paul McCartney, something to appeal to every musical taste.
The forty-piece symphony, conducted by Dr. Farrell Coy, has members from throughout the Upper Arkansas Valley as well as Crestone.
From 1700-50 is Handel Water Music, 1750-1800 a Haydn symphony, 1800-1850 the Brahms Academic Festival, 1850-1900 The Steppes of Central Asia by Borodin, 1900-1950 Three-Cornered Hat by DeFalla, 1950-2000 a medley by the Beatles.
7:30 PM. The public is invited. There is no admission charge but contributions are welcome.
