The Salida Hot Springs is a year-round facility offering aquatic recreation and relaxation in natural, hot, mineral water. It is Colorado's largest indoor hot springs pool facility. Check our website for operation hours.
The water is collected underground and piped 5 miles from the source high in the majestic Rocky Mountains, this sparkling clear and odorless water was originally enjoyed by the Ute Indians. It flows continually into the various Salida Hot Springs pools, refreshing and warming them.
As a 1937 WPA project some 200 men were employed for the digging and laying of the original pipeline and construction of the buildings. The facility, including the water line, has been updated several times over the years.
A 25 meter, 6 lane pool dominates a large portion of the building. At approximately 82-88 degrees this pool is delightful for swimming, diving and recreational play. Two lap lanes are usually available.
Across a divider wall, a smaller 4 foot deep pool holds water at approximately 92-102 degrees. The zero depth entry provides easy access. This pool is excellent for hot aqua-therapy, exercise and soaking.
